Safeguarding begins with the body.

We put policies, rules, and procedures in place as preventative measures to reduce harm. And while these are important, we can’t simply relax and rely on even the strongest external safeguards.

Our most important and most reliable safeguarding system remains our body. As women, many of us are inculturated to second guess or even ignore our instincts and intuition. The best way to keep ourselves safe and have strong boundaries is to be as responsive as possible to our gut signals and intuitions.
