Trans Boleyn

Coffee Talk:

Not many of you know my first career was in theatre and theatre education. I spent 20 years of my life educating, directing, acting, and writing in theater.

Theater was once a male only profession where men wrote, directed, and acted. Female characters were written and acted by men training audiences to see women as objects of male interpretation.

Dylan Mulvaney has made an entire career as acting as a male interpretation of a woman. He follows a long lineage of men who have made careers as female impersonators.

It’s meta ironic that in a play that attempts to give voice to the invisible women who have viewed by history as just the wives of a famous man, the most iconic of those women is now being played by a MAN.

Transgenderism is just the same old sexism rebranded.
