TikTok influencers like “they/them” actress and trans-trendster Robyn Holdaway push trans dissociative identities by submitting to sexist gender roles through the guise of metaphysical gender identities. Rather than outright rejecting sexist cultural gender roles, elective amputation is used to selectively opt out the roles they don’t like.
This is a form of solipsism in which the metaphysical reality of the mind is given credence over the physical reality of the body. Trendsters like Robyn believe they can transcend physical reality with consumer purchases. They think they can purchase and perform their way into whatever reality they want. And the reality of their mind is stronger than physical reality.
But physical reality always has a way of asserting itself in the end.
