We Knew: by XX/XY Athletics

While fighting for women’s suffrage, Susan B. Anthony famously said, “No self respecting woman should wish or work for a party that ignores her sex.” This was the absolute fundamental basis of women’s rights. Back then WE KNEW what a woman was.

We knew that women were barred from equal participation in public and political life. And we fought hard to gain equal access to political representation, sports organizations, and the understanding that protecting women on the basis of sex was a worthy goal.

We currently are experiencing a significant political crisis as women in which some politicians seem to have forgotten what a woman is, they have forgotten our historic fight for public and political representation for our sex.

Jennifer Sey of XX/XY Athletics has been producing viral ads that have captured the public consciousness of women. These ads are being shared millions of times by women who remember our lineage and are being awakened into action to speak back against political powers that ignore our sex.

The loud minority is losing public support and the silent minority is silent no more. Women have won battles bigger than this before and we will win this one as well. Men are not women and their identity claims do not trump our sex based rights. We knew what a woman was once and WE KNOW now.
