While I was writing the WDI USA brief, I realized I was going to have to find a dictionary definition of "male genitalia" in order to explain to the 9th Circuit why no men are women. So I did. I sat there Googling "formal definition of male genitalia" (I didn't want to simply Google "male genitalia" because I didn't want to get porn hits). I found a reputable definition and copied/pasted it into the brief. Then I thought to myself, "Why on earth am I doing this??" And I typed out the words, "It should go without saying that women do not have any of these body parts." Then I just sat there for a few moments at my laptop, staring at those sentences. Then I typed this: "It is truly a testament to where we are as a society today that it must be said in the context of federal civil rights litigation that women do not have penises." That sentence made it into the final version of the brief that got filed before the 9th Circuit.
If you had told me when I graduated law school that I would one day be using my law degree to explain to the United States federal judiciary that women do not have penises, I would not have believed you.

With last week's passing of HB 300 in Pennsylvania, I am afraid that we are following in Washington state's footsteps as the bill includes gender identity. It aims to expand statewide non-discrimination protections to include sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression in employment, housing, and public accommodations. At the same time SB 9 "Save Women's Sports Act" was once again re-referred to another committee.
Ffs it’s 2026 and women are still having to defend our safety from the sex responsible for 98% of human violence…

I've only ever heard that term in the novel ( and subsequent film) “ No Country For Old Men.” Did Mc Carthy originate it? Certainly works here!
It was in "Liars Poker", Michael Lewis' book about Wall Street in the 80s. It came out in 1989.
