This is very succinct thank you. I just spent a weekend with my younger daughter who is “trans” and now self describes as a “femboy”(the labels go on and on!). She’s been on this path for nearly four years now and gets pissed off with us (her Dad and I) because we won’t fall in line and call her by the most recent name she has chosen. We stick to her childhood nickname which is not gendered-as far as we know-although her father got a telling off because he sometimes calls her “E” which is the first letter of her birth name and the original “trans” name she went by! No pleasing her I’m afraid, plus she is a shocking know all -which is very irritating-and she says we don’t respect her and she doesn’t know if she still loves me because I don’t accept her choice to (pretend) to be a man! Well a pleasant weekend that was although she looks well(?)and seems to be loving living interstate where she attends Uni and has lots of friends. Small mercies I guess.
Amputation seems psychotic to me; due to my training as a psychiatric and emergency registered nurse to affirm the reality at hand and not the imagined that is not with proof.
“There is no way for you to feel unicorn.” You giggled saying that and I giggled with you, that line speaks so clearly about all of this ideology, across all ideologies. I love that you’ve been bringing up astrology and other human created beliefs in these discussions. I’m an atheist so those points make sense to me & being a long time resident of Moab I definitely have been inspired by Ed Abbey. I’m so grateful to have found you, your words resonate deeply with me in regards to this SUPER FRUSTRATING movement that is negatively impacting the lives of so many people.
